New Zealand's Greg Henderson was seventh in a bunch sprint for line honours in the opening stage of the Tour de France this morning (NZT). Henderson, the only Kiwi in this year's tour, is the lead-out man for Lotto-Belisol's ace sprinter Andre Greipel but he had the opportunity to lead the way for Lotto today, crossing at the same time as stage winner Marcel Kittel of Germany. Double champion Alberto Contador took a spectacular tumble as the tour got off to a chaotic start with Kittel winning a crash-marred opening stage.
